Nine days later you come face to face with a wall. Ricker stops the cart a few feet short of the gate and hails the guard. He looks down from on top of the wall.

"What's your business in KnotHome?"

"Just passing through! Be gone tomorrow morning!" He calls back.

"You'll be searched and all weapons will be confiscated until your departure."

Menzo nods his grudging acceptance. With at least three of them fully capable without a weapon he didn't feel too threatened, though he still disliked letting go of his blade.

"We agree to your terms!"

The guard's head disappears and you hear a shout to raise the gates. The massive wooden door opens in slightly but stops and suddenly starts to close. Shouts from on high alert your attention to an ambush of goblins behind you!

The two goblins with bows quickly run behind the rest of their group when Fang leaps off of the cart. Seeing him as the most obvious threat, they fire their crossbows at him!

Mambele hrms, feeling a little torn between the annoyance of having to face goblins just as he was looking forward to a bed and a shower, and the excitement of adventure. It's hard not to feel a little depressed when you had nothing to do for nine days but to ponder on the fact your world is dying, and even a battle is welcome at that point. Still, he's only half-joking when he whispers to Menzo-Teran. "So, do we kill them or recruit them? Our new world will probably need goblins too."

Before Menzo-Teran can answer (assuming he could at all), the warlock vanishes from sight, only to reappear a few yards away, rod in hand and a fresh quarry on his sights. Showoff.


Ethereal Stride to 7-Q (move, encounter). Can teleport 3 sq and gains +2 to all defenses until the end of his next turn.

Curse G-4 (minor, at will)

Roll 1: Dire Radiance (standard, at will) +3 CON +1 half-level +1 vicious rod +1 prime shot vs Fortitude.
